CUSTOM SIZES, SMALL TO LARGE

Requests for larger glazing areas are growing with the desire for increased views. At Brombal, we offer extreme flexibility in design and some of the largest glazing surfaces in the world, with both aesthetics and performance in mind. LOW IRON GLASS

Glass in windows and doors is often chosen with views in mind, which is why glass transparency is especially important. To get the most clarity, glass needs to be produced without imperfections such as intrusions or wavy distortions which may reflect light waves.

The most transparent glass contains low amounts of iron which eliminates the glass’ tendency to have a greenish-blue tint, especially on larger/thicker panes. Brombal provides glass with a very low percentage of iron; quality is guaranteed through cutting-edge optical control post production.

TEMPERED AND LAMINATED GLASS

Both tempered and laminated glass models qualify for safety glazing & comply with the highest safety standards. Brombal works with tempered and laminated glass to increase safety and energy efficiency needs, all while working within your style.

TEMPERED GLASS

Tempered glass is made by heating and cooling standard glass which leaves the glass approximately four to five times stronger and more resistant to breakage. If it does break, tempered glass shatters in small pieces that are less likely to cause injury/damage compared to non-tempered glass. Features include extreme strength, high thermal resistance, and increased safety.

LAMINATED GLASS

Laminated glass is made from two pieces of glass that sandwich a polyvinyl film interlayer in between them. This glass tends to stay together when broken, qualifying it as a safety glazing material. The interlayer keeps the layers of glass bonded during breakage, preventing the glass from shattering into large dangerous pieces. For this reason, laminated glass can be used in areas requiring hurricane-resistant construction.

LOW-E COATING

To reduce heat loss, Brombal offers glazing that allows for an increase in thermal performance. A transparent coating composed of four different layers is added to the glass, minimizing the amount of ultraviolet and infrared light that passes through the glass, without compromising visible light transmittance.

There are two types of coatings: passive low-e coating and solar control low-e coating. Passive low-e coating is designed to boost solar heat gain inside a building and create “passive” heating. Solar control low-e coating is made to limit the amount of solar heat passing into the building, for the purpose of keeping buildings cooler and reducing the use of cooling.

DOUBLE AND TRIPLE PANE WINDOWS

Opposed to single pane glass, double or triple glazing creates a greater barrier between interior and exterior conditions. By adding argon gas between the panes it increases the energy efficiency of each piece. Brombal offers different solutions with double or triple pane glass to greatly increase the energy efficiency & reduce heating/cooling costs along with heating/cooling effects on the environment.

GLAZING BEADS

Glazing beads play two essential roles. First, they hold the glass in place on the frame section. Second is aesthetic – the glazing bead helps change the appearance of the frame from a traditional putty glazed look to a more contemporary style. We provide the option to picture frame and corner weld each glazing bead to maintain quality and minimize unsightly gaps in the corners of each unit.

Brombal provides an ample range of sizes in four glazing bead designs: Square Glazing Bead, Sloped Glazing Bead, Gothic Glazing Bead, and L-Shaped Glazing Bead. The available materials are: Galvanized Steel, Stainless Steel, Cor-Ten Steel, Brass, and Aluminum.
