Maintenance painted stainless steel

STAINLESS STEEL

Clean. Solid. Precise.

The physical features of stainless steel provide extreme durability with minimal maintenance. It has excellent corrosion resistance and is ideal for ocean front or industrial applications.

This long lasting material makes stainless steel the ideal solution in harsh environments. Through the years, stainless steel has undergone continuous technical improvements, becoming famous for its great durability. For the production of our profiles at Brombal, we use AISI 304 and AISI 316L stainless steel depending on the environment: AISI 304 stainless steel is provided in a satin finish while AISI 316L stainless steel – particularly suitable for marine environments – is provided in scotch-brite and polished.

THE IMPORTANCE OF CLEANING

Environmental residue inevitably finds its way onto windows and doors. Microscopic build up can form from different environmental elements such as dirt, debris, salt, air, and pollution. In addition, biological growth including mildew, can also develop on northern-facing facades, under eaves, or on any heavily shaded surface that remains damp. Over time, pollutants can slowly erode the paint coating, leading to unsightly aesthetics, and potentially, corrosion. The only solution to keeping Brombal windows and doors in pristine condition is thorough and consistent cleaning of the surface.

WARNING

Windows and Doors are very sensitive to scratches!
NEVER use pointed objects, sharp tools, razors, etc on glass or frame surfaces.

GLASS

Use plenty of CLEAN water and a mild household cleaning agent, such as soap, and apply with a clean cloth or sponge. Exchange water frequently ensuring there is no sand/dirt in the solution. Rinse cloths/sponges frequently.

PAINTEND STAINLESS STEEL

Never use aggressive detergents or steel wool for cleaning, only a pH neutral soap. Soap and warm water may be safely applied using a soft, clean cloth or sponge or nothing harsher than a soft bristle brush. All dirt and debris should be removed from gasketing, thresholds and between all frame surfaces, then wiped clean with a soap and water solution. After rinsing with water, the surfaces should be dried using a clean cloth. Contact a Brombal representative before applying any cleaners stronger than non-alkaline detergent.
