Maintenance painted galvanized steel

GALVANIZED STEEL

Expressive. Imaginative. Creative.

Brombal uses a steel alloy, the FeP02 with a GZ200 hot zinc coating (equivalent to 200 gr/sqm on both sides) that protects the profile from oxidation both on the interior and exterior surfaces. The subsequent finishing process, called skin-passing, allows for better paint adhesion and lasting durability.

Paint coatings are available in a wide range of RAL colors as well as 15 custom finishes. The physical features of steel allow for profiles with narrower sightlines and greater glass area. Galvanized steel is 3 times stronger with thermal conductivity 4 times lower than aluminum alloys.

THE IMPORTANCE OF CLEANING

Environmental residue inevitably finds its way onto windows and doors. Microscopic build up can form from different environmental elements such as dirt, debris, salt, air, and pollution. In addition, biological growth including mildew, can also develop on northern-facing facades, under eaves, or on any heavily shaded surface that remains damp. Over time, pollutants can slowly erode the paint coating, leading to unsightly aesthetics, and potentially, corrosion. The only solution to keeping Brombal windows and doors in pristine condition is thorough and consistent cleaning of the surface.

HOW TO CLEAN PAINTED GALVANIZED STEEL

WARNING

Windows and Doors are very sensitive to scratches!
NEVER use pointed objects, sharp tools, razors, etc on glass or frame surfaces.

GLASS

Use plenty of CLEAN water and a mild household cleaning agent, such as soap, and apply with a clean cloth or sponge. Exchange water frequently ensuring there is no sand/dirt in the solution. Rinse cloths/sponges frequently.

PAINTEND GALVANIZED STEEL

Never use aggressive detergents or steel wool for cleaning, only a pH neutral soap. Soap and warm water may be safely applied using a soft, clean cloth or sponge or nothing harsher than a soft bristle brush. All dirt and debris should be removed from gasketing, thresholds and between all frame surfaces, then wiped clean with a soap and water solution. After rinsing with water, the surfaces should be dried using a clean cloth. Contact a Brombal representative before applying any cleaners stronger than non-alkaline detergent.
