KEND FARM – a contempory two-story glazed wall house

View of the two story glazed galvanized steel wall of the villa

This contemporary Connecticut guest house is a modern version of a traditional barn with wide open floor plan and strong connection with the exterior landscape. The structure contains the classical barn elements such as gabled metal roofs, sliding barn doors and wood siding. Brombal installed a wide two-story glazed wall, caged into a steel gable and window wall frames to let as much light enter the structure as possible. As final result, Brombal was able to create a strong contrast between classical old-style design of the structure and the use of a very modern look given by the galvanized steel present in all the windows and doors of the house.
